Excellent Cased Adams Mk. II Model 1867 Revolver
Description:
Serial #679, .450 Adams, 5 3/4" octagonal barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This revolver retains 90-95% of the original bright blue finish, with some fading to smooth plum-brown on the rear of the frame, as well as some silvering and minor handling marks along the edges and corners.
The Adams commercial markings are crisp and clear on the right side, while the top of the barrel is stamped: “ADAMS’S PATENT SMALL ARMS Co., 391 STRAND, LONDON".
The locking ejector rod and cylinder pin have 30-40% of the original fire blue remaining, with the balance faded to bright gray.
The checkered walnut grip is in good-very good condition with numerous small blemishes, and moderate flattening of the points.
The mechanism is fully functional, and the revolver rates very fine-near excellent condition overall.
The revolver is housed in a correct, unlabeled wooden traveling case (without accessories) in which the gun sits upside-down or reverse from what you normally see.
The case is lined with green baize, and has some seam separation along the edges of the lid.
The lock plate is missing as well.
The revolver was purchased from noted British handgun author Joel Black, who himself purchased it from the renowned Nunnemacher Collection (the bulk of which now resides in the Milwaukee Public Museum).
This is a handsome example of a seldom seen, Model 1867 Adams revolver, and rates fine-near excellent overall.
