Antique GERMAN M1883 REICHSREVOLVER 10.60 Revolver 1880s European Six-Shooter!
Description: Antique GERMAN M1883 REICHSREVOLVER 10.60 Revolver 1880s European Six-Shooter! Here we present a German Model 1883 “Reichsrevolver” Single Action Revolver chambered in 10.60 x 25mmR, made circa 1885. The Model 1883 Reichsrevolver was a hefty solid-frame single-action revolver. It was based on the first Reichsrevolver, the Model 1879. It was the first centerfire handgun adopted by the fledgling German Empire, which was a simple design similar to European revolvers of the period. Introduced in 1883, this revolver served as the standard issue sidearm for the Imperial German Army until 1908 when it was eventually replaced by the classic Luger 9mm semi-automatic. Some of these saw action in both World Wars. A lanyard ring was typically seen under the grip handle for attaching the weapon to one’s person. The 1883 is named the “Officer’s Model” by some due to the earlier Model 1879 being named the “Cavalry Model” or “Trooper Model”. Various arsenals produced these guns, including F. Dresys, Mauser, and some government arsenals such as Erfurt. This six-shot single action revolver was loaded via a gate on the right side similar to a conventional single action such as the Colt Single Action Army, but it was slow to unload because it lacked an ejector. The overall condition is very good. There are strong traces of blue finish in the cylinder flutes with a gray patina throughout. The markings are clear. The numbers match. The grips are solid. The bore is in very good condition with nice rifling. The action remains strong. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4-5/8 inches. Caliber: 10.60 x 25mmR Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1450 #190718 SOLD Antique: Yes |
