Rare Cartridge LeMat Revolver. Extremely rare gun! There are only a few examples known of these guns. These types of cartridge guns were patented in 1877 and made shortly after that. They were not in production long as they were complicated to make requiring a lot of hand fitting. This caused them to be expensive and impractical since none of the parts would interchange. According to the book The Confederate LeMat Revolver by Doug Adams, less than 5 of these are known to survive! This gun has dark brown patina. Wood grip is very good. Action works perfect. Gun locks up tight when hammer is cocked and in battery. Very rare gun from an iconic maker!
