6-SHOT Double Hammer Percussion PEPPERBOX Pistol
Description: 6-SHOT Double Hammer Percussion PEPPERBOX Pistol Very Interesting Weapon of 19th Century Design Here we present an antique 6 Barreled Double Hammer Percussion Pepperbox Pistol, made circa the 1840s. This pistol would have been intended for use as a handgun for self-defense during the 19th Century. It features two columns of three barrels, each column having its own hammer and trigger. There is also a small turn-screw on the left side of the frame, perhaps to allow the user to select which row of barrels to be fired next. In all likelihood, a shooter would have to select a row, fire that row, then re-prime the nipples to fire the next row. The gun is unmarked except for a “Crown/V” proof mark, akin to one of British origin. The grip is quite square, with light décor done by hand. Light hand engraving on the brass frame and trigger guard. A highly unusual firearm for your collection. Overall condition is very good. Barrels have a dark patina. The right hammer and trigger have full functionality, while the left needs help to get started when in full cock. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3 inches in length. Caliber: .28 percussion Bores are in good condition. The firing mechanism is as described above. Overall condition as seen in photos. Here is a 19th Century pistol, the likes of which you may never see again! Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1450 #21774 SOLD Antique: Yes |
