Spanish Copy S&W Top-Break Double-Action Revolver Broad Arrow Mark
Description: Serial #777, .455 Webley, 5" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an Orbea Hermanos-manufactured revolver that has small, but distinct British military crossed pennants on the left side of the barrel rib near the topstrap, British military proofs on the left fram at the frame knuckle, and double arrow deaccession “S" mark on the left side just ahead of the barrel hinge. The gun is also marked with London commercial proofs on either side. The metal retains 70-75% of the original blue finish that blends smoothly into a freckled, plum-brown patina, and the hammer and trigger have freckled gray metal throughout. The original “O/H" marked, checkered hard rubber grips have numerous handling blemishes, with light-moderate flattening of the points, but are otherwise intact without any cracks. The lock-up is good, and the action is fully functional, however the extractor has twisted very slightly out of position, making chambering rounds difficult. Nevertheless, this is an unusual, British military marked, Spanish revolver, accepted into early WW2 service when Britain was desperately short of small arms. It rates very good plus condition overall. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Spanish Model: S&W Serial Number: 777 Caliber Info: .455 Gauge Info: .455 |
