Prized for its rugged construction the large framed New Service model attained a reputation for reliability and strength. It is no surprise that this gun was manufactured uninterrupted from 1898 to 1944, one of the longest continuous production runs at Colt.
This example has an outstanding double and single action trigger - no stacking, no over travel - just a crisp finish breaking at 10lb and 3.2lb respectively. A 7 1/2" barrel, perfect cylinder lock-up, rebounding hammer with pivoting firing pin, lanyard ring and checkered hard rubber grips finish off this hard hitting 45.
