Smith & Wesson Model 1917, Cal. .45 ACP/.45 Auto Rim PRICE: $795

Description:
S&W Model 1917 fitted with a 5 1/2 inch barrel, smooth replacement walnut grips, satin blue finished, and chambered in .45 ACP (in half moon clips)/.45 Auto Rim.  This Model 1917 is an early model with the concentric groove cuts on the side of the hammer.  The barrel is a replacement and has a number "7165" stamped on the bottom (over the top of another number, which cannot be fully read), along with the same number stamped on the yoke of frame and crane??  The gun is in good condition, retaining 50% blue, with assorted handling marks/scratches and corrosion pitting.  The grips are in excellent condition.  The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, but there is a ring bulge near the forcing cone and assorted corrosion spotting.  The action functions perfectly, with great/consistant timing and tight lock-up on all 6 cylinders.  Includes a U.S. embossed leather holster, stamped "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1909 T.C.C." on the back, which also is in good condition.                                            CURIO & RELIC
