Description:
This is a custom-built SW 10-7 38 special. It has been set up for PPC shooting. I purchased this from a custom shop last year. They were selling it on consignment. It is a shooter for sure. I do know who the gunsmith/builder is.
The finish is a high polished black. It is about 85% in appearance. The photos do show some dust that is inevitable when photographing in the winter.
Note that there are two small patches of corrosion on the left side of the barrel. There is no rust present, and it almost looks like the gunsmith put a new finish on the gun and went right over the corrosion areas.
While the finish is at 85% the function and action are outstanding. The trigger has been finished and polished with a trigger stop installed. The single action breaks at 3# according to my trigger pull gauge. The double action is beautiful. It stacks very nice and easy as it should for action shooting. If you want to drill the same hole, simply use the single action. This gun is very accurate.
Note that the gunsmith installed a ball dent on the crane. The cylinder is indexed and feeds perfectly. There is a normal drag line on the cylinder as should be expected with a gun that has been shot in competition.
The sight rib is designed for the PPC competition. The front sight post is tall with defined wings to allow you to use target or combat hold. The rear sight has three preset heights that can be dialed up depending on distance. I am not sure of the manufacturer of this sight rib. It is not an Aristocrat. I think it may be a Wichita rib but I am not sure.
There are two grips included with the revolver. The custom wood target grip is installed and a Pachmayr decelerator included as well.
