S&W Model 37 Airweight Chiefs Special

Description:
This Personal S&W Model 37 Airweight Chief’s Special Revolver, serial number 156820, chambered in .38 Special, is a testament to exceptional craftsmanship. Manufactured around 1959, this revolver features a 1 7/8-inch pinned barrel with a serrated ramped blade front sight and a frame-notched rear sight.
It has a black alloy frame with a blued, matching-numbered barrel and cylinder, along with a square butt J-frame equipped with diamond center checkered walnut Magna grips, complete with silver medallions and a black plastic S&W grip adaptor.

This firearm belonged to FBI Special Agent Joseph J. Palguta, who played a crucial role under Director J. Edgar Hoover. Agent Palguta captured Nelson Cornelius Drummond, a Cold War-era spy, and was commended for his involvement in the infamous Julius Rosenberg espionage case.
The revolver is included in a near-excellent condition blue two-piece box with reinforced corners, a NOX-RUST wrapper, and an uncompleted warranty card. The package consists of the original bill of sale 1959, a Bianchi shoulder holster, and a belt loop holster.

Additional accessories include:

• Nickel Model 90 S&W handcuffs.
• Various personal items.
• Framed photos signed by J. Edgar Hoover and Clarence Kelly.

Several recognition letters for Palguta’s service.
