This 1926 patented, Third Issue Colt Officer's Model Target .38 Special revolver, is circa 1950. The 6" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. It is equipped with adjustable front and rear King Sights. DW King Gun Sight Company was the premier gun sight accessory company in the US from after WWI until 1950. King was noted for finely made after market sights and custom handgun target conversions, mostly on target revolvers like the Officer's Model. The left side of the barrel is marked OFFICERS MODEL TARGET over .38 SPECIAL CTG. The barrel and frame sides have approx. 99% high luster blue Colt finish while the top of the frame has a dull non reflective finish. The back strap and trigger are checkered. The hammer has the dull finish on the top, and the sides are polished metal. The checkered walnut grips with the Colt logo are excellent and are original to the gun. The action functions correctly. This is an excellent example of a post WWII Colt Officer's Model Target .38 revolver. The gun will be packed correctly and shipped with insurance to your FFL dealer in the continental United States for $55. This gun requires an FFL license for transfer.
