Pre-war Smith & Wesson Regulation Police service revolver in 38 S&W, in original condition with original factory S&W box (no tools, but original packing paper). 4-inch barrel. Wood checkering on grips is perfect. There's just the slightest wear on the cylinder push rod, and at the very tip of the barrel.  I highly doubt this gun's ever been fired, nor does it appear to have been played with, dry-fired, etc. Also, there is essentially no cylinder ring, none, which you almost always see on any revolver over a few decades old. This gun is at least 85 years old. Morever the breach is perfect. One shot from this gun and it'd not be perfect. This is basically the most mint-like Pre-War Smith & Wesson revolver you're going to find, without paying alot of money beyond the asking price on this one. S&W guns are notoriously frustrating to obtain manufacturer dates for, unlike Colt, Winchester,  etc; but, it being a pre-war revolver, the manufacture date of this revolver, would be the middle-to-late 1930's. For what it's worth, the end lable of the original, factory box is the yellow variety, and the box is  in very good condition, except for the fact, one end of the cover flaps, but is still attached.
