Description:
Box lock. Retains 85% finish on the receiver. Markings are all sharp and clear. Marked CHALLENGER NO 3 on the lower tang. The 28 inch steel barrels retain 85% original blue with some handling marks. Excellent bores. Ejectors. Nitro proofed. 2 1/2 inch chambers. FULL & MOD chokes. Wood is fine with some light handling marks and sharp checkering. Still has the original hard rubber Trade Mark inlay on the bottom of the forend. The rib is marked J.V. NEEDHAM. LOVEDAY STREET. BIRMINGHAM. 14 1/4 inches of pull over a 1 inch recoil pad. Straight grip. Double triggers. Locks up nice and tight. Fine mechanical function. Roughly 1 1/2 drop at the comb, 2 at the heel. According to our UPS shipping scale, the gun weighs 7 pounds exactly. The gun is accompanied by a newer production case with a bunch of accessories, some of which are monogrammed. At the time this gun was made, WW Greener had already purchased the JV Needham name. We make no warranties or guarantees as to the fire-ability or safety of doing so on any of these items. Firearms are not test fired, however we do test the action to see if it functions properly for a dry fire. We do not put any ammo in it or disassemble to check internal parts. We will sometimes take off barrels or stocks in an attempt to prevent damage in shipping. We only sell used guns, and have no way to know how many rounds have been through them. WE DO NOT SHIP INTERNATIONALLY. ALL FIREARMS, REGARDLESS OF AGE OR FEDERAL ANTIQUE STATUS have to be shipped to a dealer for transfer within NY. Other states are fine, depending on your state laws. We will not ship to a New York, NJ, or CA C&R holder, a standard FFL is required. There are some states in which a C&R handgun MUST be shipped to a dealer, such as MD. Please know your local laws.
