How often do you find an antique Winchester Model 1886 rifle that is a SPECIAL-ORDER, TRULY FACTORY ORIGINAL, UNMOLESTED GUN, WITH 99% VIVID FACTORY CASE COLOR AND BLUE?  That is what we have here in this Winchester Model 1886 rifle, sn32906 built in 1889, fully documented with a Cody Firearms Museum information sheet.  This M1886 has all the most desirable features you want to find in a standard rifle, ie full octagon barrel retaining 98% factory blue with edge wear, an excellent bore showing strong, sharp rifling and shiny surfaces with only light frosting here and there(rate it 8.5 on a scale of10, amazing for a black powder era rifle), full magazine tube with 98% factory blue, factory case colored action showing 99% vivid factory case color with minimal thinning on bottom of action, perfect original screws, lever retaining 90% case color, and hammer retaining  98% factory case color, loading gate and bolt retaining 99% factory charcoal blue, wood finish still factory original with expected handling marks and scratches, no splits or cracks in the wood, perfect wood-to-metal fit, butt terminating in the factory crescent steel buttplate mottled case color.  Mechanically excellent in all ways, with a crisp trigger and crisp action, there is no work needed for this big-bore rifle to take game or bang the gong at 200 yards.  Add in the highly desirable .45-90 caliber and you have a cowboy’s heavy-hitting treasure.  Winchester Model 1886 antique rifles in this condition are seldom seen for sale, most having been altered or restored in some way over the decades.  When considering the investment quality of this rifle keep in mind that the special-order 28” extra length full octagon barrel will only be found on about 100 Model 1886 rifles, or .1% of the total production.  THIS IS A RARE MODEL 1886!  WHEN YOU ADD THE RARITY OF ITS CONDITION, THERE ARE LIKELY LESS THAN 10 IN THE WORLD LIKE THIS.  Antique rifles are more valuable than post 1898 rifles, cased colored rifles bring considerably more money than rifles with the blued receiver that came standard after 1900, and finally that FACTORY ORIGINAL, UNMOLESTED RIFLES ARE ALWAYS WORTH A PREMIUM OVER ANY THAT HAVE BEEN RESTORED IN ANY WAY…INCLUDING THE WOOD.  The final matter of value relates to the bore condition.  Antique rifles commonly have moderate (or worse) pitting in their bores due to the corrosive nature of the black powder cartridges of the day.  Many collectors enjoy shooting their vintage rifles at game or targets, so bore condition matters.  THIS RIFLE HAS A GREAT BORE FOR AN ANTIQUE RIFLE AND WILL SPIN A BULLET LIKE A NEW GUN.  All these considerations differentiate this rifle AND ITS VALUE from others offered for sale at lower prices, or many at even at higher prices.  Rifles like this Winchester don’t surface often, so don’t hesitate to own this gun now.  Give us a call today before it is gone!  Thanks for looking.
