This is a very rare carbine, one of about 3,000 made by H&R between 1943 & 1949 as a longer range, more accurate alternative to the Model 50 submachine gun, suitable for arming war production factory guards, railway security personnel, as well as police and correctional officers. This example retains about 90-92% of the original parkerized finish that has some dull gray fading in spots, as well as a few scattered specks of brown freckling here and there. The walnut stock has only a few very minor handling marks scattered about the otherwise excellent original military oil finish, and a single correct, H&R-made, Model 50 SMG blued magazine is included. This is a splendid example of a rarely seen WW2 secondary US firearm, and is in excellent overall condition. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
