We are over the top proud to offer this exquisite example of a United States Fire Arms prototype .410 revolver. They were made in the year of our Lord 2011, just before the curtain came down on USFA. A was launched for them, shotpistol. They are truly unique weapons, as they were developed in a tactical sense. They are finished in matte black, and deliberately have no loading gate or rear sight channel. For use in darkness, or by feel in lieu of taking your eyes off the target, there is a pronounced divot in the cylinder. A practiced finger can feel its postion, and it can tell you how many rounds you have left if you lose count in a fire fight. In the included exclusive letter from USFA president, Douglas Donnelly, he makes a reference to the receiver top of a Winchester model 12, rounded the same way. These combat wheel guns were made to point, not aim. These priciples also apply to 3 gun competition, which had a strong influence on their development. Only a handful of these guns were made, passed around among marketing, distributors, and shooting competitors. I have only seen one other of these on the market, and this is the only one currently for sale. I believe the rest are locked up tight by long term collectors and former employees. It is hard to believe that 14 years have passed since USFA closed its doors. Despite that, this revolver is in near perfect condition. That is a term we rarely use. Every detail looks like new. A whisper of a turn line may be the only detraction. It came to me tethered, and will go out the same way. I like the shotgun style front bead. The elongated and wonderfully knurled base pin reminds me of a Colt 1877 Sheriff model. She is a full 6 shooter, and the back of the cylinder is rounded to facilitate easy removal of empty rounds by hand. There is also enough space at the back of the cylinder to see and rotate to the type of ammo you need for the next shot. They are all steel, and the only single action .410 revolver. This wheel gun comes with the factory box, shipping sleeve, manual, warranty card, letter from the president, and cloth sock. USFA values have held steady since production stopped, with specialty versions climbing ever upward. While hundreds of those variants were produced, these prototypes never made it to production. That makes them the most scarce USFA guns you could ever own. If you believe that you are the premier USFA collector of our day, then step forward and claim your prize.
