The two piece box has a tan primary and blue side seal label with the the updated "US" trade mark in circle logo. The box appears to be a factory overlabel with hints of the older blue/green primary label beneath. In very fine to near excellent overall condition the top and side edges show mild wear with flaking with a small piece of the side seal label missing that reveals the earlier box labeling. An interesting circa 1890's box that used an earlier 1880's box having the Lowell, Mass address, and "Metallic Cartridge" call out with the early cartridge cut of what looks like a center fire round with "38 Long / Rim Fire" spelled out. A great looking box with an interesting factory re-label. Price: $135.00 |
