Description:
This is a WWII U.S.M.C. Medical Corpsmen Knife manufactured by John Chatillon & Sons of New York. The broad, non-tapering chopping blade swelling towards the point, with round tip and sharpened edge, 11 1/4 inches long, 1 3/8 inches overall. The bright finish excellent blade has some light surface oxidation no chips or dings. Excellent thick wood scale grips secured by three brass rivets to the exposed tang with no chips or cracks. The excellent leather scabbard is marked "USMC Boyt 45". The leather is has light handling marks with light verdigris on some of the hardware. Boyt was the only manufacturer of the scabbard, from 1942-45.
