The steel has an overall pewter silver patina with some light oxidation near the ricasso. The blade has proofs on the ricasso and gaurd with "Mre. d'armes de Chat Fevrier 1883" on the spine. The hooked quillon and muzzle-ring have a darker, mottled patina, while the brass pommel has a dull ocher color as well. The wooden grip panels are in excellent condition with only minor handling marks in the original oil finish. The unmatching number scabbard has 50-55% of the original blue remaining with some surface oxidation. This is a nice example of a Gras bayonet overall. Price: $165.00 |
