Description:
ANTIQUE Bacon & Company .36 Cal Single Shot Ring Trigger Pistol with antique display case and accessories
Manufactured by Thomas K. Bacon, Norwich, Connecticut (circa 1852–1858)

Brief History: Bacon & Company .36 Cal Ring Trigger Pistol
Thomas K. Bacon was a notable American gunsmith who began his firearms career at Allen & Thurber, a prominent arms manufacturer in the mid-1800s. After gaining experience, Bacon formed his own company — Bacon & Company — around 1852 in Norwich, Connecticut. His designs were innovative, often ahead of their time, and typically produced in very limited numbers.
This particular .36 caliber single-shot pistol was produced by Bacon & Co. between 1852 and 1858, with only around 400 examples ever made, making it exceptionally rare and collectible. These pistols are especially recognized for their distinctive ring trigger, which sets them apart from most other percussion firearms of the period.
The gun's part octagon, part round barrel, engraved frame, and shotgun-style hammer are all hallmarks of Bacon's craftsmanship. Its relatively short production run, low serial numbers, and unique features make it a prized item among antique arms collectors.
