This 98k by Gustlof Werke was produced in 1944. The rifle's serial number is 9730 f. The receiver top has the bcd code for Gustlof Werke and the number 4 for the date of 1944. The 24 inch barrel is chambered for the 8 m/m German service round. The bore is bright and minty looking. This rifle is all matched serial numbers. There is no real sign of service use or wear. The original bluing would rate a 98% overall condition. The top wood hand guard is serial numbered to this rifle. The stock and handguard is in very fine condition with no cracks or other issues. This rifle is not a duffle bag cut gun. The leather sling is an original military issued sling for this rifle. This rifle is certainly a high collector grade condition rifle for the serious collector. These World War 2 98k's in this fine of condition and being all matched numbers is a real find these days!
