Description:
This is a British P-1842 Socket Bayonet for use with Lovell Catch on the 1842 musket and 1851 Minie rifle. This bayonet is in very good original condition with bright finish 17" blade with many signs of use with a bit of mottling and nice tip. The ricasso carries many stamps and makers marks, WHEELER being the maker. The back of the 3" socket is also stamped. Over-all a very nice example. Please see photos for finer details.
