The FN Browning Belgium Custom Auto-5 is a stunning example of a classic semi-automatic shotgun, combining the legendary reliability of the Auto-5 platform with exceptional craftsmanship and artistry. Produced in 1959 by FN Herstal in Belgium, this 20-gauge shotgun features a 25.5” barrel choked Full (.040” restriction), a vent-matted rib with a silver front bead for precise aiming, and a 4+1 capacity. It retains an excellent overall condition, with faint wear typical of its age and use. Mechanically, it is outstanding, with a smooth action, a crisp trigger, and a clear bore.
The firearm showcases a deluxe game scene engraving with intricate scroll motifs on its high-polished action. The left side of the receiver features a beautifully detailed game scene with a mallard duck in flight, framed by elegant scrollwork, while the right side depicts a quail in flight with matching decorative scroll motifs. This masterful engraving highlights the craftsmanship that FN Browning is renowned for.
Further elevating this Auto-5 is its exhibition-grade walnut stock and forend, boasting a striking grain pattern. The stock features an English straight grip style with sharp, detailed checkering on both the grip and forend.
