Offered for your consideration is very early Marlin Model 39. This rifle features a couple very interesting characteristics not seen very often on the standard 39 model. This particular rifle has the inspector star inside the tang (see image). The rifle also has a model 97 mag tube with push latch rather than standard 39 tube with push button. This is mentioned in Brophy's Book concerning early 39s however rarely seen. The rifle displays well with wood that has never been refinished. The bore is very good and all mechanical aspects are in proper working order. Handling marks, impressions and dents are present concerning furniture (no cracks). Metal shows speckling and very light pitting in certain areas. Still shows lovely case colors on receiver. Please see images for your own evaluation. Price does include shipping.
