Description:
This is a rare Belgium Model 1868 Saw-Back, measures 23.5" overall with a blade length of 18 5/8", inside socket diameter of socket is .675" and has a screw on top of the socket to adjust. The unsharpened blade shows dark age patina with scattered speckling, excellent working press-stud, with brass ribbed handle and hooked quillon that is tight and has no looseness. The ricasso is stamped Luneschloss, SOLINGEN Makers, GB (Belgium Proof) on the reverse 1869 with crown. The Guard has a serial no. of V 471 with the opposite side having no marking. This bayonet was produced to fit the M1777/ 1868 Terssen rifles. No scabbard.
