It is in very good condition. Only about 684 out of about 4000 Model 1916 rifles were made in .30 Newton caliber. The wood has very few light marks the most prominent on the top of the stock shown in the pictures. The barrel and receiver bluing is about 98-99%. The bore is bright and there are NO cracks in the stock. The serial numbers all match. The floor plate and trigger guard show some light stippling of the blue probably from carry. This rifle is pictured in The Newton Rifle Second Edition on page 104 in the center of the page. It is also accompanied with a letter stating so and stating that is was used in the research for the book.
