Offered here for sale and acquired from a large collection of firearms is this very fine Smith & Wesson Model 18 .22 revolver. ? The Smith & Wesson Model 18, also known as the .22 Combat Masterpiece, is a highly regarded .22 LR double-action revolver. It was designed to be a practice counterpart to the Smith & Wesson Model 15 (.38 Special Combat Masterpiece) and shares the same K-frame platform. This specimen, serial number K32784T was manufactured in the early 1950s (likely 1950 or 1951). It retains the large majority of its finish and we would rate it 98-99% finish. With so many guns acquired at once and with our plan to quickly offer them to the marketplace-this specimen escaped our gunsmith’s final clean and as a result images show some streak of oil and telltale “peach fuzz” from wiping down-all which we will clean before shipping. But we will guaranty condition with refund if returned. It has a barrel length of 4 inches. Caliber: .22 LR. The former owner, a shooting enthusiast placed a very nice set of Hogue grips.
It has a fully adjustable rear sight and a pinned barrel and given the early serial number it is one of the first-production Model 18s, which adds collector value. The original grips would have been walnut Magna-style grips, so for the collector a pair of factory grips would great enhance the value.
