REDUCDED Rafely found are these are these neat little variants of Rugers 44 mag carbines. 44 mag carbines now sought after by hunters and collectors were produced in the standard (barrel band type) format from approx 1961 to 1985. This somewhat rare variation known as either the Sporter or Finger Groove model are distinquished by the absence of the barrel band vaguely resembling and M1 Carbine but rather having a longitudinally grooved forend with special factory sling swivels. The handsom Finger Groove model was discontiued in 1971 (which is when this one was made and was its last yr of production for this unique variation. The metal on this gun is not far from 100%. The handsome finger groove stock with factory monte carlo comb has a number of handling marks and one drying chek on the left side of the forend. We are calling the stock 85% but it is likley higher. Many of the huntin marks could be steamed out or touched up if somone cared to.
At an overall length of under 37" and weighing just a hair over 6lbs these make a terrific little woods carbine or in states that allow only rifles with pistol cals or straight wall cartridges.
