Description:
This is a post WWI produced M1905 bayonet manufactured by Springfield Armory dated 1921 configured for WWII use with a "BN" marked (Beckwith Manufacturing) M3 scabbard and WWII era black bakelite plastic grips. In very good to fine used condition the 20 1/2" OAL bayonet has a 15 3/4" sharpened blade with 12 inch fullers having a dark gray patina showing original finish in protected areas. It is marked "U.S. / 1186658" on the ricasso with "S A" over Flaming bomb and "1921" date on the reverse. The black bakelite plastic grips rate about excellent with some light use marks and contusions. It comes in a WWII produced "BN" marked scabbard that is solid with a slight crush at the tip and wear to the finish and a mostly plum brown throat marked with the "US" flaming bomb ordnance stamp. A very good example of an interwar M1905 bayonet that was used in WWII.
