Description:
This is a handsome knife that measures 17 1/4" overall with an 11 7/8" curved, single-edged blade with rounded tip. The blade has an armory bright polish with scattered specks of carbon staining and some dried oil along either side and slight impact nicks along the upper part of the blade. The ricasso is marked "US / 34087" on the obverse, "SA / (flaming bomb) / 1913" on the reverse. The S-curved crossguard a mild ochre-colored patina, and the walnut grips are in excellent shape with light handling marks and minor blemishes. The RIA-made, 1911 dated leather scabbard is in fine shape with 97-98% of the original blue remaining on the belt swivel and a slightly scuffed and crazed brown leather body. This is a splendid example of a great pre-WW1 US military knife, and would make a great addition to any collection.
