1862 "Snider" conversion of the British Enfield Infantry
Musket to a 'Breech Loading' cartridge, resulting in a large bore, single shot rifle that was made for the Dominion of Canada.
Chambered in .577snider and featuring the famous
??????'trapdoor' compartment.
The barrel and breech are stamped with British proof marks that are clear and readable. The left side of the stock is marked with the Dominion "DC" within a diamond, for the Dominion of Canada.
The right side stock is marked with the Royal Crown marking and unit.
An outstandingly preserved piece of history, perfect for any collection.
