Built early 1920s. Many top quality French guns were built in Belgium, this gun is a true french best quality gun with original French proof marks.

Finley sculpted sidelock action with full coverage rose and scroll engraving and chimera figures engraved on the sides of the top lever.

Very nice condition overall left side of forend has a small chip towards the front. Barrel bluing has light wear, screws on underside in front of the forend are from sling swivels.

One of the only pre WW2 high vent rib sidelock guns I have ever seen, great dimensions and weight for any target/game shooting. Very easy gun to shoot well, Shooting sportsman has had a few issues featuring G. Callens guns calling them the Purdey of France and I would agree the quality is as good as any of the top London makers. Reasonable offers considered
