The New Line was a single action pocket revolver introduced by the Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company in 1873 and continued through 1884, with the .22 caliber being manufactured between 1873 and 1877 with a total of roughly 55,343 being manufactured. Two years after the Colt House Revolver, a year after the Colt Open Top, and almost simultaneously alongside the Colt Peacemaker, the Colt New Line was one of the first metallic cartridge, rear-loading revolvers manufactured by Colt. It was designed to be a handy pocket-carry revolver, chambered in .22 rimfire, which was very popular for self-defense in those days. The revolver features 7 shots of .22 rimfire. Of all the Colt “New Line” revolvers made, the .22 caliber was the only one featuring a 7 shot cylinder. All other calibers utilized a 5-shot cylinder. Etched on the left side of the barrel is “COLT NEW 22”. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration of the revolver, including the caliber, the barrel length, the nickel finish, the pearl grips, the factory engraving, and that it was shipped to B. Kittredge & Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio on April 5, 1876, as part of a 45 gun shipment. The overall condition is about good. The cylinder arbor pin is absent. The action remains strong. The bore is dim with thin rifling. Solid mother of pearl grips. Nice factory engraving. Original nickel finish. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-1/4 inches. Caliber: .22 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1900 #240217 Price: $1,900.00 Antique: Yes |
