Description:
SINGLE ACTION ARMY, .32-20, 5 1/2", #297XXX, MADE 1907. Nice example that has a particularly tight action with no cylinder play or end shake, four distinct clicks to the hammer and a bright excellent bore. The frame is mostly a dark gray with some dark case colors remaining in the forward portion in front of the cylinder. The barrel has the correct markings on top and side and shows some good aged blue in the protected area by the ejector housing which also has good blue on the top and bottom sections. Also good blue in the protected areas of the grip straps and trigger guard. Cylinder retsins good thinning blue with deeper blue in the flutes. Exc. screws and cylinder pin. Has a lanyard swivel in the butt that looks like it has always been there because of the blue remaining around the swivel and the wear pattern of the ring portion. Grips show only light wear with the grip straps mostly gray with good blue on the butt (protected by the swivel). Correct hammer. Very slight and hard to detect except on close inspection are two tiny grooves barely cut into the top sides of the front sight for a better sight picture. In all, a handsome 118 year old SAA that still shows some decent finish and excellent bore/mechanics.
