Description:
"NSN, circa 1863, 58 caliber, 40" round proofed barrel. Bore shows traces of rifling. Barrel, barrel bands, lock and trigger guard are a grey patina. Barrel is marked with “V/P/Eagle" Lock plate is marked “1863" at the rear, forward of the hammer is marked “C.S./RICHMOND. VA.". Stock has had a coat of varnish applied at some point. The initials “dpx" and “BV" are carved on the butt stock. Action holds at half and full cock.
