Description:
.17 HORNET SNIPER/VARMINT RIFLE

.17 Hornet Savage Model 25 with 10x40x50 Barska  Varmint  Scope and lens covers. 3 Sunshades, Marine Corp. Leather Sling with quick detachable sling connecters, cheek hi-rise pad/ammo pouch , Bi-pod and vinyl gun carrying case.
In Viet Nam I had to carry a Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 in .30-06 with an 8x Unertl scope and my spotter  [a superb Sniper] carried a M14 along with all our other equipment.
On the Police Department, the tradition of large caliber rifles in 1000 yard calibers remained the S.W.A.T. mantra.
Times change, and center of mass shots with knock down capability are no longer necessary at 50 to 100 yard targets. Average shooters make excellent snipers using big guns and powerful bullets.
The guns, scopes and related equipment can cost $10,000 + and you have a critical time loss getting the sniper and equipment to the scene. So what’s the solution? Simple, but requires much more skill then average.
The .17 Hornet is deadly at up to 300 yards at 3700 feet a second, does not deflect off course through glass, explodes on the commencement of penetration and disintegrates the medulla oblongata on contact. This means a suspect holding a detonator or firearm is no longer capable of pushing a button or pulling a trigger.
So why doesn’t each Police Department invest $1200 in the equipment necessary to equip one designated shooter on each shift 24/7 and why not train everyone on how to use it ? The problem lays at the feet of the ability to SHOOT PRECISELY AT THE HEAD OF A SUSPECT and hit the target PRECISELY. The skill of a Master Shooter in two weeks of training or less. It’s fast, immediately available and saves lives within minutes of the need for it.
