Description:
This is a very rare Remington Model 25 pump in 25-20 caliber. Right side of buttstock is embossed with following stamp: " PROPERTY OF KANE KENDDAL COUNTY, IL. BANKER'S FED"! Back in the 20's, 30's & 40's, most banks had their own guards and bank rifles to protect from bank robbers of the day! It's quite rare to come across an original one! Serial Number: 25326, Date Code: LY - Feb. 1930! Rifle is 100% original & authentic, all numbers matching. Overall condition is Excellent inside/out. Buttstock does have some crazing in the original finish, a good sign it was never messed with, blueing is exceptional for this rifle! Bore is bright shiney with crisp lands/bores, as near new as it gets! Functions flawlessy and very accurate during test firing. These rifles were rarely used and mostly for a show of force to bad guys, ergo they saw little to no use. Remington Model 25's in this condition rarely come up. Typically, they're used & abused as most were used for putting meat on the table.
