VERY FINE CONDITION With REDFIELD 2x-7x SCOPE
Here we present a C&R Sako L61R Finnbear 7mm Magnum Bolt Action Rifle made circa 1970-73 in Riihimäki, Finland with a Redfield 2x-7x Scope. Sako of Riihimäki, Finland is known as one of Europe’s best rifle makers. Sako began in 1919 as “Suojeluskuntain Yliesikunnan Asepaja” or “Civil Guard Supreme Staff Gun Works,” opening in a former brewery in Helsinki. The company made guns and ammunition, including their own version of the Mosin–Nagant, said to be a much better rifle than the Russian Mosin-Nagants, and definitely one that caused the Russians great pain in the Winter War. Sako began making rifles for the civilian market in the 1940s. This example, the Finnbear L61R, was in production from 1962 to 1973.
Sako Finnbear rifles are hefty rifles, known for their fit, finish, and accuracy. The model developed for big game hunting in 1961 and was the first rifle manufactured to be compatible with Sako's own lock. The L61R Finnbear is known as a trusted weapon that is traditional, reliable and has a two-baffled muzzle brake.
The overall condition is fine. Original finish. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The stock is solid with sharp checkering. The scope is clear with a fine dot reticle. Import marked under the barrel.
