Winchester 1894 Semi-Deluxe rifle with Serial # 423860 being manufactured in 1907 with a 26" round rapid tapered pencil thin barrel in 30WCF. This nice original rifle has a fine bright bore that was well maintained during its lifetime and shows the care taken throughout the barrel length. The " Semi-Deluxe" refers to the special order features that this rifle was ordered with like a pistol grip buttstock with "I" checkering and a capped hard rubber grip cap with decorative screw, 26"round rapid tapered blued barrel, 2/3 magazine and takedown feature. A hard rubber shotgun buttplate, sights- front Marbles elevated improved, rear #6 Lyman folding leaf, and a Lyman Tang sight #1. It is difficult to locate a model 1894 Semi-Deluxe rifle with the original factory finish in unmolested condition with the barrel and magazine tube retaining 95% bluing and the receiver action retains 75% to 80% of original blue, has perfect screws, the lever and hammer retain 40% case colors, loading gate retaining most of it's niter blue. The handling point on the receiver is where the bluing has faded to a weaker tone of silver. The buttstock and forearm retaining most of the factory finish and solid original checkering with no cracks or repairs, handling and field use has thinned the varnish and game hash marks are on the left cheek buttstock as seen in the attached photos adding hunting character to this beautiful piece of Winchester History. This is a fine example of a Winchester Semi-Deluxe rifle in 30WCF with a very smooth action and crisp lockup, having the rarest special order feature offered by Winchester in a rifle with the 2/3 magazine and a 26" rapid tapered pencil thin barrel makes this Deluxe rifle extremely rare. This Winchester rifle was used but carefully maintained and has a New England hunting providence and would make a splendid addition to any Winchester collection. C&R eligible.
