Description:
"NSN, circa 1812, .60 caliber 36.5"" octagonal to round barrel reconverted Board of Ordnance trade gun by Whately. Metal is a dark brown patina with scattered surface oxidation visible, circle fox is stamped on the barrel and lock plate with a faint broad arrow noted on the breech. Wood shows usage and handling wear. This looks to be one of the 1580 guns made during the War of 1812. Action functions correctly.
