The Nylon 22's paved the way for acceptance of synthetics in firearms. They were not the first but were highly successful. The Dupont Corp was commissioned to produce a plastic with high strength and they came up with Delrin 66 impregnated with Nylon fiber. They advertised as maintenance free, but that was a bit of a stretch. This one is in excellent condition, and will be a favorite.
