Description:
A bolt-action Waffen Jung rifle, Jagen Weltweit Edition "Hunting Worldwide". Caliber .416 Remington Magnum. Rifle has a total length of approx. 45 1/8 in; barrel length approx. 24 in; weight of the entire rifle is approx 10 lbs, extraordinarily well balanced with the appropriate weight for the rifle caliber; drop belly 4+1 magazine (3 5/8ths inches) with hinged lid with release inside the trigger guard. The barrel is sparkling clean inside without any roughness visible to the eye - from the cartridge chamber to the undamaged muzzle. Stock (with right-handed cheek piece) is in a beautiful brown/black walnut in the straight English style with high gloss finish with fine stock checkering that does not "bite" - length from the trigger to the middle of the NECG Universal red pad is 14 1/4 inch. System: Built on a military Mauser action (Deutsche Waffenfabriks Berlin). The barrel features express rear sights with one fixed sight at 50 yards, one folding sight at 100 yards, and a second folding sight at 150 yards, and a pop up ivory bead dot sight perfect for low light conditions.The scope mounting system is the quick detachable Recknagel with a Leupold VX-5HD, a FireDot reticle. Wood and metal are in 95% condition. Bolt shows signs of light use. Wood has several slight nicks and surface dings. If you do not want the scope, this can be discussed. Rifle will be shipped in a black Pelican Vault case in foam (pictured). Shipping, handling and insurance will be $350 from my FFL to yours. Since you enjoyed the Hartmann and Weiss , here is, possibly their only rival in making ultimate quality bolt action rifles from scratch in all calibres and configurations, Waffen Jung by master Theo Jung. There are other master gunmakers in Germany like Harry Baeider who build some magnificent big bore rifles, but Baeider uses the H&W action on his rifles, making him an associate of H&W and not a completely independent gunmaker like Jung. Waffen Jung manufactures the complete bolt-action rifle. From start to finish they insure that everything is crafted to their high standards. Each rifle is tailored to the hunting requirements, needs and personal tastes of the customer. Master gunsmith, Theo Jung, ensures each hunting rifle he makes is a unique creation and a work of art.
Each bolt-action rifle is newly manufactured in-house. The Mauser 98-type actions are machined and hand-filed to very high tolerances. The double square bridge actions are made in three sizes: short, standard and magnum. The maker also offers all three actions in a left-handed as well as a takedown version.
The wood chosen for the stock comes from a large selection of hundred-year-old Caucasian walnut stock blanks that are cut from the trees’ roots to display the most colorful grain pattern throughout. They are finished with a special process to give the stock a durable weather resistant coat. This high gloss finish beautifully embellishes not only the rifle, but also gives it a personal touch. Master engravers are ready to engrave every style: flat engraving, deep engraving, relief engraving, engraved fillings with leaf motifs, ornaments, and personal monograms. At Waffen Jung, the maker prefers the subtle, restrained, English-style engraving, which emphasizes the lines of the gun and the noble Turkish walnut wood’s grain effectively. “Less is more” is their philosophy. The engraving is enhanced by traditional color case-hardening and other metal finishes.
