Unless otherwise stated, our guns are not test fired as we have no facility for that. We inspect the firearm and it's action to see if everything appears functional but they are sold without warranty. Unless the item is listed as being sold AS-IS, there is a 3 Day Non-Shooting Inspection Period which starts when the item arrives at your dealer. No shooting, no disassembly. Visual inspection only to confirm correct item and that it matches description in major ways. Minor differences in subjective matters like percent of condition, etc, and personal opinions like ergonomics, fit to your hand or shoulder, etc, do not justify returns. Once you take the item home it is yours and no returns will be allowed. Items listed with AS-IS label are not returnable. We will not issue refunds for unknown mechanical problems. Here is a very rare and very high quality rifle. It is a Varner Sporting Arms Favorite chambered for 22 LR. These rifles were made in Georgia in 1988-1989. These are the best Stevens Favorite style rifle you can get. The quality is excellent. These are takedown guns and will make a sweet gun with a little work.
This rifle had it's original stock cut short and then an extension added back by the previous owner. The original stock and forend are included. The current owner purchased a replacement stock and forend from the current owners of the Varner Sporting Arms along with a tang peep sight made by Varner which cost him $345. The current owner then tried to install the buttstock and the peep sight and ran into trouble. The butt stock does not quite go all the way on as it needs very minor fitting. The peep sight screws were very tight and the owner broke one off trying to install it. So this rifle needs, the butt stock to be fitted. (very minor fitting needed) and the peep sight needs to have the broken screw removed and the holes possibly rethreaded and new screws need to be found and installed. SOLD AS-IS due to the work needed. This is a consignment item. Thanks for looking!
