Description:
This is an Aston Model 1842 smooth bore 54 caliber pistol with swivel rammer. The lock is marked Aston with 1847 date and the tang is dated 1848. All of the markings are crisp with two sharp Inspector Cartouches on the wood grip left side. The mechanical function is very crisp and tight with a very good smooth bore. Aston made 24,000 of these.
