Description:
Up for sale is an exceptionally rare P Series Belgium Browning Superposed. In total only about 1400 of these guns were produced in all grades and gauges, P3 being the second highest available. I have not seen another round knob "Lightning" configured gun from this post standard production series of guns, anectdotally I believe they are very uncommon if not "rare" in terms of actual production numbers.
The engraving and gold wire are well executed and signed "C. Baerten" on the bottom of the left game scene. Complimented by the finely checkered oil finished wood and excellent wood grain this gun is VERY attractive and will display well in ANY collection.
Barrel set 1 measures 28" and is choked Full over Modified, barrel set 2 measures 26.5" and is choked Modified over Improved Cylinder. LOP measures 14.25" to the end of the factory pad.
Condition is absolutely mint, factory fired only. There are no handling or use marks present, the action is EXTREMELY stiff, and there is still factory grease on the internals. Top tier collector and investment quality.
