Description:
Serial #71913, .25-20 W.C.F., 24 5/8 inch barrel with an excellent bore. This is the Savage model 23-B Sporter rifle manufactured from 1923-42. In very fine to near excellent condition the barrel and action retains about 80-85% of the original thinning blue finish with scattered use marks and light scratches. The walnut stock is solid with light surface marks and contusions and has added sling swivels. It is sighted with a vintage Ranger model 4x scope with slightly cloudy optics and has the original front sight and comes with one original Savage marked "SAVAGE SPORTER" 5 round magazine for either .25-20 WCF or .32-20 WCF which is removed by rocking it forward and pulling down. The action functions smoothly with a very nice trigger. A very well regarded small game rifle in its day that was once the sought after "Turkey Rifle" where legal. FFL or C&R
