I am an FFL Dealer in Connecticut, as well as a collector. The business name, Warthog Arms, is derived from my Air Force service as an avionic tech on A-10 Thunderbolts (also known as the Warthog). I always strive to go the extra mile to ensure a very satisfying transaction and have an established, trustworthy reputation. Though not new to Guns International, I am now beginning to list on this site. I typically use GB for listings so if you would like to find out about my reputation, you can look me up in Advanced Search under Warthog-Arms. My current feedback rating there is A+(152). Description: For your consideration is a DWM Model 1900 Commercial Luger. This model was the original Luger pistol designed by Georg Luger. Serial number 3883 indicates it was manufactured in 1900, the first year of production. Around 19,000 of these models were produced, which includes the American Eagle and Swiss Commercial. Of those only around 5,500 had unmarked chambers and were sold in Germany as well as exported, as evidenced by the “Germany” stamp on the front of the frame. Distinguishing features of an early Commercial Luger include flat breech block, unmarked chamber, grip safety, broad checkered safety lever, no stock lug, leaf mainspring, and dished toggle knobs. It is chambered for .30 Luger (7.65x21mm). This is a stunning pistol that has been expertly restored. The finish is uniform, and the factory machining marks are intact. All the details are correct, down to the polished area under the thumb safety lever. Niter bluing is nice on toggle pins, magazine catch spring, sear spring bar, and grip screws. The strawing is bright. All proof marks and numbers are present, correct and legible. All parts are matching including the grips. The magazine is correct for this model, with nickel finish and unmarked wooden base. Grips are in very good condition with minor wear, the fitment is perfect. Both panels are exceptionally clean and free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or damage. The bore has pitting with defined rifling. The previous owner had fired it some and indicated it was accurate. Mechanics are excellent and all controls work perfectly. The action is slick but still tight and precise. There is no slop in any part of this pistol. Overall, a nice early 1900 Commercial Luger that would be a great addition to a collection or the envy of the shooting range. Many more pictures are available on request via an emailed link.
