Description:
This Colt SAA (serial #98422) was shipped to E. Meacham Arms Company October 2, 1883 with 49 other guns. It is in .44 WCF (Colt Frontier Six Shooter) caliber with 7.5” barrel, blue and case, with one piece wood grips. This gun originally had “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER” acid etched on the left side of the barrel but it has worn off. It is in very good mechanical condition with four clicks and three stops, reasonable lock up for its age and has a good, but evenly shallowly corroded black powder bore (probably a 7 out of 10), with strong rifling. It shows overall smooth steel with no original finish, but no rust a only a bit of staining. It has no deep scratches or dings and the grips show nice color and oil finish. The serial numbers all match (frame, trigger guard, butt strap) and the assembly number “6079” appears on the loading gate and frame. This is generally a very clean, all original, used not abused, single action that has been kept in good condition for over 140 years.

The holster with the gun is a vintage H. H. Heiser, Denver, Colorado, heavy leather double Mexican loop version in very good condition.
