Description: SOLD, PLEASE SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS. This wonderful 1957 top-quality, little-used heavy 12 bore is unique. It was undoubtedly built as a live-pigeon gun that can also serve in a duck blind quite easily. Factory built as mod 216 SLE heavy action with 3 inch chambers and slightly raised flat rib that has been hand matted with ivory front bead. Double triggers, ejectors, POW type grip with engraved horn grip cap. The large beavertail is very comfortable and the balance is great. 8 pounds 4 oz. I used this gun at times when I was pigeon shooting in South America every year for some years to great effect, but it has been idle in the case for the last dozen years (it has been wiped down and checked yearly of course). It is in top shape both mechanically and finish wise. Just some light handling marks on wood, no cracks and metal is 98%. bores are perfect and chrome steel. It has been very well cared for, as are all my guns. Fancy walnut has fine checkering, 14 1/2 in LOP to a rubber pad with 1/4 inch spacer (the spacer can be removed of course if one wishes and the same pad easily refitted). 1 3/8 DAC and 2 1/8 DAH, slight cast off. This was obviously a custom ordered gun. I don't think you can buy one of these today unless you special ordered it at great exepnse, probably well over 24K. And it won't be late 1950's quality- when the pre-war craftsmen were still working or just retiring. I priced it to sell, I just dont need it any more.
