Description:
Here we present a very nice Waffenfabrik Bern Karabiner Modell 1931, more commonly known as the Swiss K31, chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss. This straight-pull, bolt-action rifle was the standard issue rifle of the Swiss armed forces from 1933 until around 1958. This example is an ALL NUMBERS MATCHING rifle with the full serial number (606336) appearing on the receiver, bolt, and the 6-round removable magazine. The last three digits of the serial are also stamped on the barrel just forward of the receiver. The 25.5" barrel has an excellent, shiny bore with strong rifling. The receiver and action are in excellent condition, with 96%-98% of the original bluing on the receiver remaining. The stock is in great shape as well with the usual light dings/abrasions consistent with a rifle of this age. Overall I would rate the gun as Very Good Condition with a few spots of light finish wear. The rifle also comes with a vintage leather sling and an Excellent Condition 12" blade bayonet with scabbard. The bayonet is marked with serial number (116484) on the crosspiece and "ELSENER SCHWYZ" on the blade. It slides on and off the rifle smoothly and locks tightly into place. This is a fine example of the Swiss K31 that would make an excellent addition to any collection. Feel free to call or text with any questions or for more pictures.
