Here is a Shooter-Collector’s 32-40 Caliber Sharps Borchardt Rifle with a Like-New Condition Heavy 28-Inch x 1-1/16” (approximate) Diameter Barrel and a Nice Monte-Carlo Pistol Grip Stock with Matching Wood Forend; SN 75XX. I comes with a Vintage Lyman All American 20X Scope. The Barrel has a front dovetail and no sights. The left side of the receiver is marked in three lines “BORCHARDT PATENT / SHARPS RIFLE CO BRIDGEPORT CONN. / U.S.A.” Serial Number is on the bottom of the Receiver between the Breech Block and Trigger. The receiver, lever and other parts appear to have been polished and refinished long ago with care taken not to wear down the serial number or receiver markings. The Wood is Dark, Straight-Grain with no checkering or embellishments besides the Blue Steel Pistol Grip Cap. A peculiar loop/swivel is installed on the receiver bottom ahead of the lever. The Niedner Style Buttplate has the same Heavy-Duty/Coarse Checkering that we have seen on other Borchardts in this collection. All mechanical functions feel tight and secure – making this a collectible and shootable sport-target piece.
